In 1994, Avantic Lodging Enterprises began adding ’50s style diners to their hotels. As the collection expanded, unique local names became more challenging to come up with. As a grand romantic gesture, the president of the company decided to name all new and existing restaurants after his wife, Penny. A pony-tailed waitress in a poodle skirt logo was designed, and a brand was born.
With 27 restaurants across 15 states, Penny’s Diner is open 24 hours a day to provide excellent service for hotel guests and travelers with an appetite for a good meal. Fresh ingredients are used to produce American favorites like hamburgers, old-fashioned sundaes, and our famous malts — all made from scratch. Known for our 1950’s style nostalgic memorabilia, Penny’s invites guests to take a seat at our sit-down counters, observe our line cooks through an open kitchen, and relive old memories while creating new ones.
